Welding stuff is expensive

I have a friend who has been trying to get a divorce from her husband for almost three years. He just wouldn't cooperate. Anyway, at the end of 2011, he finally signed the papers and she is now free. First thing that happened though was that a storage company sent her a huge bill that her husband was supposed to be paying. She couldn't really afford it, so we suggested that she take the stuff to pawn shops and sell it. Wow, who knew welding supplies could be so valuable. She came out with a real chunk of cash. I know one day her ex is going to want that stuff but you what, he's the one that didn't pay the bill so it's his loss.

Pool Safety nets

You know the laws must be different in different states regarding pool safety nets . My neighbor just had a pool put in and when she was showing me, I asked her where her safety net and fence were. She shrugged. I told her that while I lived in Florida that it was the law that every home with a pool have one. She says she never heard of it and the pool people didn't say anything. She also added that she would look into getting one. I was happy to hear that.

Living here is really tough on the whole family but we really bonded together in a way that has surprised me. Before we moved we didn't spend a whole lot of time at the total family unit but now every Thursday night in our house is movie night. The alternate who gets to choose the move from the chandler directv lineup and I always make something special for dinner that night. It's just really nice to spend time with my husband and all four of our kids at once, and I also get to hear about their days at school. They tell me more now than they ever did back home because they're having a hard time adjusting and I think we just need someone to talk to about all the changes that are going on. I know this move was tough but it was the right thing for my family and in another year and we will all look back and see how far we've come since this time.

I hate being the gopher

You know I am really spoiled and rarely have to do anything special or that requires work. However, every time my husband decides to do anything I have to be the gopher. I try to keep a smile on my face because I do know how spoiled I am but sometimes its really hard. Like today. He comes in and tells me to do a search for drum trucks. I don't even know what that is and if I do find it, am I going to have to go get it? Probably.

Is it to soon to start thinking about Father's Day ? While I was drinking my coffee this morning I had the calendar down and was just glancing at the holidays. When it hit Father's day I don't know why but my brain just stuck there. I'm trying to think of something really special to get my dad, but it's really hard because he's in his 70s and just doesn't really need anything.

He finally got his RV

My previous boss was always talking about buying an RV. He is retired military but was working for the government. He had big dreams of traveling for his retirement. Well, guess what? I was watching tv and I kept hearing a horn honk, so I got up to look outside! There sat a giant RV in my driveway and there was my old boss, grinning and waving! He finally got his dream vehicle. It is nice but I wonder if he is prepared for the high gas costs and any rv travel emergency . I hope so.

My goals for this year

I've set a few goals for this year and one of them is to learn how to play guitar. When I was a kid I played around with a guitar and I learned a few simple folk songs (which worked well for me back in my hippie days), but I would seriously like to learn to play. I also have my sight set on learning piano one day. I will work on the guitar first then maybe I'll attack the piano.

At Christmas, I was out looking for waterproof cameras . I wanted to get them for my son's girlfriend's kids because I know that kids are rough on things. I couldn't spend a lot of money so that definitely limited the selection but there were still enough that I could get them each a different brand. Well, on Christmas, the youngest dropped his in the toilet. To make it worse, he was afraid to tell anyone and left it there for a good 30 minutes. Well, when he finally came clean, we retrieved it, washed it and guess what? When we turned it on, it worked great! I was really impressed.

My 2 best friends and I just got settled in our new home in Atlanta. We all go to different colleges and are in our senior year, but have all decided to stay around Atlanta (because who doesn't love Hotlanta?!) to start our careers so we took the plunge and bought a house in a cute little section of town. Why not? The market is great right now and we got a steal of a deal! We wanted home security Atlanta since we are 3 single girls living by ourselves. All of our parents said they would feel better if we had it since none of them live close to us. We understand. So I guess now, I am officially an adult! We are still decorating the living room and foyer but besides that, we are pretty much done. It's been really fun getting looking in little boutiques, antique shops, furniture stores and even the occasional yard sale. It’s finally all coming together and collaborating with my besties to make it happen is an adventure all in itself.

Houses for Rent

Wow, I could not believe my eyes when I went out looking at Christmas lights the other night. Of course I was cruising around neighborhoods that I do not usually drive around it. Well I swear, there were houses for rent everywhere and every other house was for sale. I guess I've been really blessed with my situation. I'd like to sell my house but I don't need to so I'm just waiting, but I'm guessing that many of these people do have to sell their homes.

Yeah I'm a sucker for pretty things! I love to get them as a gift and I like to give them. I love things for the house as well as jewelry. Well I had to buy some little girls some presents and I was really at a loss about what to buy, but then I noticed that they were both wearing beads so I bought them some Swarovski Crystal beads and I think they will really like that!

Our new sunroom by Window King

It’s been a long time coming but we finally committed to getting a sunroom built. I’ve wanted it forever, but on the few times we got estimates it was way out of our price range.

Well we also wanted to get our windows replaced with hurricane windows. After many estimates and annoying salespeople, we hired a company called Window King. The price seemed reasonable for their strongest windows and when they came and installed them, they did a great job. They were neat, fast and we were really impressed.

So, we asked about a sunroom. We ended up contracting them to do it, albeit after a little haggling over the price, we are so happy that we did. Their product is simply great! We now have a beautiful 14 x 18 room that I love! We thought the price was good compared to all the other estimates. For under $18k we now have a bright, all weather room where we can hang out during the winter or summer and be comfortable. We should have done this long ago, especially since we are smokers and do not smoke in our house. Check out the video of our project:

Technical Trainer Jobs

I have to say that I feel so blessed. Every morning I watch the news and every day it is the same thing, millions unemployed. I feel so blessed that I have a good job, even if it is only temporary. The amount of time it has lasted has given me the opportunity to make plans for when it ends. I am in a situation where I have a good technical background in my field and could easily get contract work such as Technical Trainer Jobs. I watch the internet and the papers and it is still an area where they are employing people!

Oh, I am so sad that this country is in the shape that its in, which as seriously impacted everyone in my family. I have a good job and I can get everyone a nice gift for Xmas, but I really can't afford to spend money on myself. I know the rest of the family is in much worse shape...I guess that canon t1i camera that I have on my list will have to be marked off. Well, maybe later in the year I can get it for myself.

I love shopping for people and I pride myself on buying, surprisingly useful gift. I was thinking about my grandmother today. She lives in Ohio and is like 76 years old or so. She's in good health basically but she seems a bit clumsy when she is getting around. I was thinking that maybe a pair of MSR Snowshoes would be a good gift for her. I hate to think of her falling down and breaking something.

I am a perpetual worrier. This is one of my worst traits. I worry about everything—sadly, this is not an exaggeration. My husband jokes that if I don’t have anything in my life at the present moment to worry about, I will worry about inventing something to worry about. It is kind of a problem, is my point. I worry about my home being broken into, or about my home catching on fire and all of my irreplaceable heirlooms and photos being destroyed, or about a pipe bursting and flooding my house while I’m away. I really wish that I was more “footloose and fancy free,” but alas, this is not going to happen. I’ve come to accept this aspect of my personality over time, but I can do everything possible to try to limit it. Therefore, having an alarm monitoring service is really a non-negotiable for me. Not having home security systems monitoring my home while I’m away would just give me another thing to worry about. And trust me; I do not need anything else to worry about. I’m already completely out of control.

You know life has changed so much, I don't know what is cool and what isn't anymore. I went out to pick up a gift for a friend's birthday and the first thing that came to my mind was personalized stationery . I always that that was a great thing and some stationary is so beautiful, but does anyone write anything anymore? I'm not sure if it is still cool or not but that's what I'm going to buy.

Their Sunroom is almost done

My parents live in a very nice house in a great neighborhood, but ever since they got the house they have wanted a sunroom. Well, they finally hired someone to do it and it is almost done. They are really excited and went out and bought furniture for it, but they called me to find out what I thought about tvs. I told them I thought they should look at samsung tvs lcd instead of plasma like they have in the house. I like samsung and I think LCD tvs will outlive plasmas by far.

I've got to admit that I have a bit of an obsession with RVs. I've never owned one and until recently I never actually knew anyone who did. For some reason it seems really appealing to me, though it will be many years before I could afford one. My friend got one and it is really nice. I wonder though about what kind of money you're talking when it comes to insurance and rv repair . I think one needs to be aware before they jump in, but of course I don't have to worry about that yet.

I just love the fact that I can sit here at my house, which is a thousand miles away from my family and buy things for them. I really like surprising people so I do buy a lot of things and have them delivered. Sometimes they are fairly big items but more often than not, it is small things just to put a smile on their faces. My absolute favorite thing to do is to order online floral arrangements And have them delivered to their workplace. It is always a huge surprise for them and I usually get a call from them within ten minutes of delivery. I know they think I am a bit crazy, but I love flowers and while many people won’t buy them themselves, they sure like getting them!
